Health And Sexuality

Did you know that one's health can and does have an effect on one's sexuality? Diabetes for instance, contributes to sexual dysfunction. Almost 50% of men, who are diabetic, suffer from erectile disorders or have difficulty with ejaculation. Women who have diabetes typically have loss of sexual desire which may be a result of the difficulty of reaching an orgasm. The risk of sexual dysfunction can be reduced by managing one's blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure.
Similarly, one's sexuality is affected by Depression and temporary mood swings. When one gets into this medical zone, one loses interest in sex and other normally pleasant activities. Although there are effective medical approaches to deal with Depression, one notable side effect is sexual dysfunction. A depressed person must talk to his or her doctor or a specialist about the options available to him or her in choosing treatment and if there are any that will not interfere with your sexuality.
Coronary artery disease is yet another serious health problem that can lead to sexual dysfunction. Due to the blockage of the arteries, the blood flow to the genitals may be affected. If there is not adequate blood flow a man will not be able to achieve an erection and a woman will suffer from inadequate lubrication. A myriad of treatments have been documented over centuries in both medical and non-medical (cultural) settings as curative approaches to relief dis-ease (to borrow the wording of Hippocrates the father of Medicine, " Look ye to the spine for the signs and symptoms of DIS- EASE". Some of these treatments may result in a level of dysfunction and hinder one's ability to perform sexually. They may also cause a loss of sexual desire. Some blood pressure medication, diuretics and treatments to lower cholesterol along with many psychiatric therapies can have an adverse effect on a person sexually. Some unorthodox medical remedies such as tincture and aphrodisiacs have had their turn in relieving ailments psychologically but have had long-term adverse effects medically especially sexually. An open and honest conversation with one's healthcare provider with regards to preventing side effects is a must. One may be able to simply change his or her medical regimen.
Nonetheless, adopting a 'flexiterian' diet (gradually switching to vegetarian foods by reducing intake of terrestrial animal meat and meat products) greatly helps in achieving a stable medical equilibrium.
Remember, open communication with a doctor or specialist is the best way to get answers about one's health and its effect on one's sexuality.

Fat Burning Exercises You Can Do From Home!

There are a lot of research and theories about the best exercises for burning fat. Many fitness and personal trainers have their own conclusions about the topic. With so many conflicting views from people who are supposed to be the experts, deciding on a workout routine can really make your head spin.
Any type of physical movement burns calories. This means simple activities like walking or even raising your arm burns calories. This means that any type of exercise you engage in will burn some level of fat. The question of course, is how much you will burn. The more resistance and intensity you put in, the more calories your body will burn off in a shorter amount of time.
If you want to burn fat fast, then resistance training is a good place to start. This commonly involves weight training, though resistance bands and body calisthenics are suitable as well. Generally, compound exercises are far more effective for burning fat. Compound movements are basically anything that recruits multiple muscles. Squats are the perfect example. This exercise works the thighs, glutes and hamstrings all at once. If you have ever squatted with a heavy barbell on your back, then you know just how intense this exercise is. This intensity has a direct effect on the amount of calories burned.
The bench press is another great exercise for burning fat. It works the chest, triceps and shoulders. You can also do pushups as an alternative. It works the same muscles in the same manner as the bench press. Another effective upper body workout are pull ups and other form of exercises that involves a rowing movement. This works the back muscles as well as the biceps.
For fat loss, compound exercises should comprises of the bulk of your workouts. Exercises, such as bicep curls and tricep dips, are isolation movements, meaning that they only work a single muscle. While you may certainly include isolation workouts into your routine if you wish, they are far less effective for burning fat.
In addition to burning calories, compound exercises are also much more effective for building lean muscle. This may be of concern to some people, especially women, who want to lose fat without putting on bulky muscles. This concern is unfounded. First of all, women do not have the same level of testosterone as men do, so they do not need to worry about gaining large muscles. Even then, a little extra muscle is a good thing, because muscle burns calories. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn per day.
If your goal is to burn fat fast, you don't need to reinvent the wheel. Just keep it simple by sticking to compound exercises. You don't even need a gym membership to get started. With some adjustable free weights and a bench or gym ball, you can perform most of these exercises in your home.

The Effects of Inflammation

What is inflammation?
Webster defines inflammation as "redness, swelling and fever in a local area of the body, often with pain and disturbed function, in reaction to an infection or to a physical or chemical injury." Almost every disease or condition exhibits an element of inflammation and it might shock you to find out that inflammation plays a major role in:
• Heart disease
• High blood pressure
• Arthritis
• Lupus
• Crohn's disease
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Alzheimer's disease
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Colitis
• Migraines
• Tendonitis
• Fatigue
• Scar tissue
Many refer to inflammation as the silent killer due to the fact that it affects so many diseases and disorders and is often the last thing people look at as the root cause to their problem. If you happen to know that inflammation is the root cause then the question becomes how then do you treat inflammation.
There are many different ways to address inflammation. One of the most common ways to address inflammation are NSAIDS(non-Steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), which are frequently prescribed to treat the symptoms of inflammation. Although these prescription drugs are effective they are associated with a vast amount of side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, rash, dizziness, headache and drowsiness. The widespread use of NSAIDS has meant that the adverse effects of these drugs have become increasingly prevalent. The two main adverse drug reactions (ADRS) associated with NSAIDS relate to gastrointestinal (GI) effects and renal effects of the agents.
These effects are dose-dependent, and in many cases severe enough to pose the risk of ulcer perforation, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and death, limiting the use of NSAID therapy
Today due to the vast amount of side effects associated with NSAIDS many people are seeking natural treatments in order to avoid such side effects. Although there are many natural alternatives there has been none to date to be as effective as NSAIDS until recently. In August of last year a company released the world's first all natural anti-inflammatory. This product has shown to reduce pain markers by 47% which is significant when you consider it is all natural with Zero side effects and a drug like Celebrex reduces pain markers by 53% which is only a mere 6 % more but is associated with many side effects. This new all natural product is really giving people a viable option without the harmful side effects of prescription medicines such as NSAIDS. This product is the fastest product to receive a natural product number(NPN) from health Canada in history. Due to the harmful side effects of many prescription drugs the demand for all natural products with the same efficacy has drastically increased and today there is an all natural anti-inflammatory with zero side effects that has the same efficacy as prescription drugs.
In conclusion the purpose for this article is to help people understand the dangerous effects of inflammation and the harmful side effects of the nsaids that are commonly prescribed to treat inflammation. This article was also written to educate people on the alternatives to nsaids like this new all natural anti-inflammatory that works and has no side effects.

Why Is Neck Support Important?

f you had neck pain in the past (it's safe to say that everyone has had pain in their neck at some time) you know how difficult even the smallest tasks can be. The slightest movement of the head can bring on an excruciating pain that is almost impossible to ignore. You end up walking around all day with your head frozen straight forward hoping that you don't have to look around and bring the pain back. And lying down to sleep isn't exactly comfortable either. It's hard to fall asleep when you have a nagging ache in the neck. Symptoms of neck pain are things like dizziness, headaches and even having a difficult time swallowing. That's why neck support is so important.
How does your neck become sore and painful?
Bad posture is one of the leading reasons for neck pain. A lot of folks have bad posture and they don't realize it or understand that it creates a lack of support for the neck. Slouching when you watching TV, working on the computer or even while you are eating can be a real pain not only for your neck but your back as well. Unfortunately the habit of slouching begins at an early age for most people so it becomes difficult to break at a later age. It takes a conscious effort to correct your posture but the benefits are great. Not only will you prevent a lot of pain in your neck and back you will also show more confidence by standing up straight.
Other causes of neck pain are pinched nerves and whiplash among other things that are usually caused by injuries. Playing sports such as football can cause many types of injuries including neck pain. Wearing the right equipment and strengthening the neck muscles go a long way in preventing these types of injuries.
What are the remedies for neck pain?
For minor neck pain most folks take over the counter medications such as acetaminophen which is found in Tylenol, this helps with the pain but not the inflammation. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs does help with the inflammation and the pain but there may be certain side effects.
There are also medications that are prescribed by your doctor referred to as opiates which are strong medications that the doctor has to closely monitor. In addition there are medications that your doctor can prescribe to relax the muscles and help with the inflammation.
Other things that you can do to relieve or avoid neck pain
Since we all spend so much time sleeping the position of our necks each night play a part in whether we wake up with a strained neck or not. There are numerous types of pillows that provide the right kind of support and comfort that your neck needs.
There are also exercises specifically for strengthening the neck muscles. Check with your medical provider on whatever information they have on the subject.

What Is The Cause of Scabies?

he cause of scabies is a parasite referred to as Sarcoptes scabiei or commonly called the itch mite.
Problems begin for the human host when a female itch mite finds her way onto the skin then burrows down creating tiny tunnels.
The male of the species then begins moving between these minute tunnels and mates with unfertilized adult females.Once the male mite has completed this task his usefulness comes to an end and he dies. Meanwhile, the fertilised female begins to lay her eggs in the burrows she has created.
Within three to four days the eggs hatch.
It will take a further ten to fifteen days for the young to evolve into adults, this only happens once they have made their way to the skins surface.
These recently matured females will then also start to burrow into the skin (the most common areas being the feet, hands, ankles, waist, nipple, genitals and the back of the elbows) while the males stay on the surface ready to begin their task of fertilization and the whole reproductive process begins again.
This cycle will continue relentlessly causing the victim more misery as time goes on unless it is brought to a halt with suitable treatment.
Washing and scrubbing the skin will not remove the parasites. The cause of scabies itch is thought to be caused by an allergic reaction caused by the parasites not to mention their poo, eggs and saliva being present in the body.
What might cause scabies to spread?
For an infestation to spread there needs to be prolonged direct, skin to skin contact between two people. This is because the mites are unable to leap or fly they can merely crawl from victim to victim. Therefore scabies is often spread by sexual encounters
It has to be said however, that simply giving an affected person a brief hug or shaking hands is unlikely to lead to mites transferring from one to the other.
Itch mites do have need of a human host both for warmth and food nevertheless, it is possible for them to stay alive on cast aside clothes, bed linen and so on for anything up to thirty six hours. Therefore sharing or coming into contact with infected items such as those mentioned can cause scabies to spread.
The most significant reason for scabies infestations spreading rapidly is often due to the fact that it takes around 2-3 weeks after the primary infestation for the symptoms of a rash and itching to begin. Therefore, the scabies victim during that time is highly contagious but totally unaware. This can cause large outbreaks, particularly in situations where people are living or working together in close proximity for example care homes and schools.
Scabies mites do not have any preference as to who they infest. Anyone can pick up scabies regardless how good or bad your own personal and home hygiene is.
Knowing the cause of scabies can help prevent its spread among your family and friends.

What Is the DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction Process?

The DIEP flap breast reconstruction process allows surgeons to create natural feeling and moving tissue in the breasts after a mastectomy. Unlike other procedures, in this one, the tissues feel and react normally to movement and sensation. Because the tissues are living and healthy, unlike traditional implants, they feel natural. This can give a woman more of a normal contour and shape while also reducing the constant reminder of the traumatic situation she was in.
What is It?
In DIEP flap breast reconstruction, the surgeon will use very precise steps to help create the new breasts. This procedure is one of the most advanced. It stands for Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforators. With precision, the surgeon will create a flap of skin that includes excess fat, skin and blood vessels. This comes from the lower abdominal region of the woman's body. Keep in mind that this procedure does not remove the muscle tissue in this region. As such, the woman's shape remains natural and her overall abdominal contouring improves. In fact, the procedure ends up being significantly like the tummy tuck abdominal procedure many women have to reduce the amount of excessive fatty tissues in this region.
Why Do It?
The DIEP flap breast reconstruction process is invasive. It does require major surgery. there are risks to it as there are to any other type of procedure. However, there are some key advantages of this procedure over others. Consider the following:
- The transplanted tissues are not from a donor but from the woman's body. This reduces the risk of rejection or inflammation.
- The muscles of the abdomen remain intact. This means there is no lessened use or shape to this area.
- The procedure creates the most normal looking breasts. This is perhaps what many women are aiming for because it gives them back their sense of self.
- You can have it at the same time as having the mastectomy or you can do it at a later time.
- For women who struggle to lose weight in the abdominal area, this procedure can help to shave off some of that excessive fatty tissue, giving the flatter shape.
There is no doubt that the process of having DIEP flap breast reconstruction is a big decision to make. One of the most important decisions you will have to make is which surgeon to work with for this procedure. Because it takes micro precision, it is often best to work with a provider with extensive experience with this surgery and who has the proof of doing it well. It also is important to consider the long-term benefits of the mastectomy and restoring your body's shape afterward. For many women, this is critical to well-being.
Opting for DIEP flap breast reconstruction can help you maintain natural feeling and movement after a mastectomy. A group of specialists can help you make the right choice for your needs: www.breastcenter.com.

Finding and Maintaining Your Ideal Body Weight

There may be a lot of talk about an "obesity epidemic", but we don't usually discuss the amount of people who are not obese, but are still overweight. Those few extra pounds may not seem like much, but they can have a negative effect on overall health and life expectancy. So how do you know what your weight should be and if maybe you should be looking into a home diet plan?
You can check yourself against the ideal body weight, or IBW. This is your target weight based on age, sex and height. There are several formulas that can help you determine what your ideal weight should be. Dr. Steven Halls has a web page listing several ideal weight calculators: the Metropolitan Life tables, "people's choice", a medically recommended range of healthy weights and other IBW formulas.
Body Mass Index (BMI) is also used by some doctors as a guide. Using your height and weight, the BMI estimates your body fat. The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute has a calculator to help compute body mass index. The BMI categories are:
- Obesity: BMI = 30 or greater, a person is considered obese
- Overweight: BMI between 25 and 29, is considered overweight
- Normal weight: your BMI should be between 18.5 and 24.9
- Underweight: people with a BMI of less than 18.5 are considered underweight
Maintaining Ideal Weight
According to the Centers for Disease Control, 33.9% of adults aged 20 and over are obese. The percentage of adults aged 20+ who are overweight (but not obese) is 34.4%. This means almost 70% of U.S. adults are not in a healthy weight range. This puts the majority of adults at a higher risk for disease such as diabetes heart disease, osteoarthritis, stroke and others. The medical community estimates that losing 5-10% of body weight can improve health and lead to an overall feeling of wellness.
Here are a few suggestions to help in maintaining ideal weight:
- Learn to balance energy used against your calorie intake. If your calorie intake is high, then your energy use must be high as well.
- Maintain a healthy balance of activity and inactivity. Do not overexert yourself to the point of doing more harm than good and use condition and age-apppropriate excercises to help you burn excess fat.
- Consider the use of weight loss supplements to help you boost your metabolism and increase your antioxidant levels.
Maintaining your ideal body weight is much easier when you have a support community. Asking others who have been successful tips on what they did to achieve their idea goal will help. Both your mind and body health will benefit greatly by finding what works best for you.

Diet For Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) have problems with their colon. This condition is being suffered by millions of people. IBS can come with extreme pain and discomfort. This explains why it is extremely important to treat and manage the condition. You can do this by following a tried and tested irritable bowel syndrome diet. This diet dictates what food you should eat and what foods you should avoid.
Take note that this diet is not for weight loss. The diet's main function is to aid in managing and treating the usual IBS symptoms. This just indicates that diarrhea and constipation can be treated by this diet. The main function of this diet is to help improve the quality of life of the individual. The discomfort and pain of the symptoms will be managed by the diet. The common symptoms of IBS include the following: diarrhea, constipation, bloating, abdominal discomfort, excessive stomach gas, and abdominal cramping.
Choosing the irritable bowel syndrome diet can really be challenging. This is because IBS can either manifest with diarrhea or constipation. These two types can have different effects in the body. This indicates that one should use a specific approach for each. IBS with constipation includes the following symptoms: slower bowel movement, hard and dry stools, and straining during defecating. Diarrhea includes the following symptoms: loose and watery stools, faster bowel movement, and frequent urge to defecate. There are specific diets for each of these conditions. However, there are cases where the individual has both symptoms. When this occurs, it would really be hard to decide which diet to use.
IBS diet does not really apply to all patients. It is a given that such diet involves listing the foods required to be eaten and foods prohibited. However, patients with IBS respond to the same food differently. The best option is to let the patient undergo some sort of trial and error. If you follow this method, you will surely get to know the foods that are safe to eat, and foods that should be avoided. Patients with IBS must really change his diet.

The following are found to worsen the condition and the symptoms; thus, they must be avoided: processed foods, chocolate, foods rich in sulfur, alcohol, fried foods, acidic foods, caffeinated foods and drinks, carbonated drinks, fatty foods, red meat, and dairy products. Eating too much should be avoided. You should try dividing your meals into 5-6 small ones. This will help promote healthier digestion. This can also control your eating habits.
Drinking plenty of water will really help if your IBS is linked to constipation. You should also increase your intake of fiber. With fiber and fiber, your stool will be soften. Take note that dry and hard stools are experienced by patients with constipation. But you should not take too much fiber. You must increase it gradually since fiber can trigger stomach gas. The following foods are rich sources of fiber: peas, cabbage, broccoli, lima beans, peaches, apples, cereals, and whole grain bread. You should also eat the following sources of soluble fiber: rice, yam, wheat bread, carrots, soy products, pasta, cereals, beets, papaya, bananas, mangoes, oatmeal, and potatoes.
There are also other remedies for IBS. But without the aid of IBS aid, the treatment will not be that effective. This explains why you really have to follow an Irritable bowel syndrome diet. It can really help the patient control the symptoms. With such diet, you'll have a more effective and faster treatment. But if you really want to make sure, you should live a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly.

Benefits of the DIEP Flap Procedure

The DIEP Flap procedure is one option of several that doctors can use to help reconstruct the breast after a mastectomy. When it is necessary to remove the tissues from the breast due to cancer or for other reasons, the lack of the normal shape can leave many women self conscious and embarrassed. However, with this procedure, it is possible to create normal looking, living tissues in the area. Unlike other procedures, this one offers some clear advantages for overall satisfaction.
How It Works
There are key benefits to using the DIEP Flap procedure. In this type of reconstructive surgery, the goal is to use the patient's tissues to create a new breast mound. This procedure, which stands for deep inferior epigastric perforators, allows for the use of tissue from the abdominal region. Surgeons will remove a portion of the abdominal tissues, including the blood vessels, skin and fat, and then reposition them under the flap created by this procedure when the mastectomy occurs.
Why is it a good choice? For many women, this procedure does have clear advantages over others. With the DIEP Flap procedure, the tissues are removed from the abdomen but the actual muscle remains in place. In other forms of reconstructive surgery, the muscles are moved along with the tissues. This leaves problems for this area of the body. It can lead to bulging or hernias. However, because the muscle is left in place, the body remains in its traditional shape.
In terms of what this procedure can do, it works much like a tummy tuck. The excessive fatty tissue, blood vessels and skin in the area are removed in total, leaving just the flat muscle in the front. This creates a smoother tummy. Some women benefit from losing a few pounds of fatty tissue in this way.
Most importantly, the DIEP Flap is a safe procedure. It allows many women to have very realistic looking breasts. Not only is the tissue in the breast area from the patient, which reduces the risk of additional problems, but it is living tissue. Unlike an implant, it moves and reacts like any other tissue on the body. There are far fewer complications with this type of procedure in the end.
If you are having a mastectomy, discuss your ability to have the DIEP Flap to reconstruct your breasts. In many situations, this procedure is considered the best option because it allows for normal body shaping and muscle mass. This makes it more natural and allows you to get back to living the life you want without a focus on what your body may seem to be lacking. Discuss this procedure with your doctor to learn if it is right for you.
A DIEP flap procedure is a less complicated form of breast reconstruction. To learn about this method and other options, go to www.breastcenter.com.

Factors Behind Exercise and Dieting Motivation

Hey YOU!!! Drop down and give me 20! 1...2....3...4....COME ON BOY!!!!! Yo momma ain't gonna help you do these!! I can smell the piggy fat sizzling BOY!!! HOT damn.. Gets me EXCITED!! Oddly enough some people actually like this kind of treatment when it comes to exercising. We're all different and depending on what gets your ass in gear, I'd say will also be the key to reaching your goal or dropping like a fly in the process.
The Nuts and Bolts
There are basically two categories for motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation means internal motivational factors that drive you to succeed. In contrast, extrinsic motivation includes all the external elements that push you to succeed. We all have both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors when it comes to doing something, but one of these is actually 5 X more likely to help you reach your goal. Can you guess which one that is? You have a 50-50 chance. If you said intrinsic motivation you'd be correct. Now give yourself a gold star and swift slap in the face for even having to ponder that question. If you had problems with that one then that often means external elements in your life determine what you do, so you had difficulties recalling memories of intrinsic motivation pushing you to succeed in areas of your life. Well my friend, we need to change this.
Who are the Winners?
Most successful sports athletes, movie stars, CEOs and business owners are intrinsically motivated to succeed. This means that their drive comes from within and isn't totally influenced by the external circumstances of their lives. That's why these people are so persistent with their goals because they aren't allowing external factors to fuel them, but instead use beliefs and personal philosophies to energize them for the long haul. This also contributes to the fact that no matter what external elements change in their lives they keep going because the external circumstances don't drive them to begin with. On the contrary, if your drive comes from external factors (social approval, prize, competition, money etc) then once these components disappear often so does your energy and desire to reach your goals. In essence, intrinsic motivation is like nuclear fuel, while extrinsic motivation is more similar to hot air. At this point, you might recall my opening page that talks about the reasons most people exercise and diet: more SEX, energy, vitality, positive attitude, and confidence. As you can see, most people are driven to exercise and diet for the wrong reasons and that's why most people eventually fail at their exercise and nutrition goals. Once they get more sex, energy, and confidence they suddenly lose the drive that was pushing them in the first place. This is bad bad bad bad.
The difference
I'm sure you've notice some people are able to maintain their exercise and diet goals, while others constantly fail. Why is this? Mainly because these individuals have discovered the slew of other benefits that come with persistent exercise and diet (intrinsic motivation), so they're able to stick with the program over the long haul. Also, they've been doing the exercise and dieting for over 6 months, which is usually the required time to adopt something new into your life and make it a permanent component. After 6 months, exercise and diet are no longer chores, or extra daily assignments, but instead they are simply a part of the day like eating or sleeping.
How to achieve intrinsic motivation?
First off, you need to be a little selfish and believe you are personally worth more than sex, mates, money, social approval and/or more than worthy to enter the VIP after parties at the playboy mansion.Basically, you need to be exactly like my ex-girlfriend. Of course, this is easier said than done, but just wait. Next, come up with an exhausted list of direct and indirect benefits of diet and exercise. Don't copy my list, but instead take some time and make a list that is true for you. You're perspective is unique, so it is the only vision capable of driving you exactly where you need it most.
Example List: (I=intrinsic) (E= extrinsic)
1.) More respect (I) --> more job opportunities (E)--->higher pay (E)---->bigger house (E)
2.) Healthy heart (I)--->live longer (I)-->cardio endurance (I)-->better sex life (I/E)
3.) Less fat (I/E)-->easier to move (E)--->more energy to do things (I)---->feel like living and experiencing more (I)
4.) Positive disposition(I)-->like to try more things (I)-->learn more things(I)-> grow mentally and spiritually (I)
5.) Like your appearance more (E)-->positive attitude/better mood (E)->more confidence (I)-->the world is your playground (I)
After making this list then you need to do a little analysis. Separate the items that seem to be externally driving you from things that are intrinsically driving you. When you come up with these two separate lists, you need to go a step further and ask yourself why these intrinsic motivators are so important to your life. If you make a well-defined list, you will begin to see that everything you listed is vital for your intellectual, spiritual and physical growth as a human being. Without developing these intrinsic factors fully you cease living and instead opt out for a life of mediocrity and passivity. You basically have two options in life: You can have a dream/goal for yourself and everyone else, or you can be a pawn piece in another person's dream/goal. If you take the latter, you give up your freedom, birth right, and human potential. If you go with the former, yes it is more scary and harder to make your own way, but it is the only way for true success and to grow to your fullest potential. Even if you fail a few times along the way, everything you learn can be harvested to make you stronger and smarter for next time. Again, perseverance is key. At this point, you may think I'm likely to veer off into a discussion about religion and God, but lucky for you I don't have enough memory on my computer to write that book. I'd like to close by giving you a few last things to think about. Extrinsic motivation will only work for a few weeks or months at best until it fails you. Instead, you must draw on your powers of intuition, emotion, philosophy and belief to conjure the fuel for a lifetime of exercise and sound dieting. Indirectly, you will be empowering yourself for a change that will propel you to new planes of existence. Yeah, I know it's deep..
Vital Game Plan
So, here's the deal-e-o. I want you to make 10 goals for your exercise and diet routines. 4 can be extrinsic, but the other need to be intrinsic motivators and very well-defined. Using the intrinsic motivators you need to brainstorm and see how these benefits/goals will bring about a better person in spirit, mind, and body. Next, I want you to find an old shoe box. You're going to use this box to place your goals and pictures inside. I can hear the whining and moaning commence. To that I only have to say SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!!!!! Now, get online or find a magazine and cut/print pictures of 2 different types of role models. One needs to have the body of your dreams and the other needs to have spiritual and intellectual aspects you admire. After you have these, every day I want you to add something to that box that motivates you intrinsically to achieve these results. Simply cut it out of a magazine, print it off the internet, or handwrite the idea very slowly on a piece of paper. After creating this list and your spiffy motivational treasure chest, you must review the contents twice a day (morning and night), and any time you aren't achieving your exercise and diet goals. Remind yourself of the life you can have, as opposed to the life you will unfortunately acquire if you don't get your ASS IN GEAR!!!! Personally, to remind myself where I don't want to end up, I cut-out a picture of a homeless man and his dog wasting away in a street alley sipping on a bottle of Jack. This seems to do it for me. This strategy in-time will help you create a mental image of your future self. In other words, a GOAL!! If you follow the rules of the game, you'll be surprised what all of these efforts can do to your level of motivation. I've engineered deep psychological principles into this strategy that naturally enhance human motivation. I can do this because besides studying exercise physiology, sports psychology, nutrition, and every social science you can shake a stick at, I'm also a psychology major and proponent of Behaviorism and Cognitive psychology. Yeah, that's right. B.F. Skinner and Albert Bandura are my home boys. Wazz up now?; ) Best of luck!

How Important Is Sex in Your Marriage

In relationships there are two main bonding elements, each playing a vital role in the overall satisfaction of the relationship. These elements are displayed clearly in the sex life and in the everyday life. First, there is the sexual relationship, and then there is the emotional relationship. While these often intertwine, each one is separate and each one has a huge impact on the other.
The sexual relationship encompasses lust, desire, love-making, and more while the emotional relationship (which also bleeds into the sexual relationship), involves the overall feelings between people. The emotional relationship is affected through every day activities and also through the sexual relationship.
It is a well-known fact that sex decreases significantly as married couples continue through their journey together. As young couples date their sex drive is at its highest and they frequently have passionate sex; after the knot is tied however, that sex drive, that libido, decreases.
So how does the lack of sex affect married couples? What exactly happens to that libido that the couples once had? Where does all of the passion and sex drive go? Well, let's find out.
Our bodies are designed so that sex is a highly pleasurable act that not only feels good, but leaves you feeling good even afterwards (in more ways than just one). During sex the brain releases several hormones however one of the most important hormones released is oxytocin. This hormone is released in both men and women and is known as the "cuddle hormone" because of its powerful effects. Oxytocin is proven to increase feelings of attachment between two people.
When couples have frequent sex their bond is often deeper due to the hormones that are released during their love making activities. Unfortunately married couples are often busy and finding alone time becomes significantly more difficult.
So how does sex affect marriages? As you read above, the couples that have frequent sex often feel a deeper commitment to each other and are happier due to the serotonin and oxytocin hormones released during sex. Making love to your partner is also a great way to relieve stress and simple to lose yourself in the other's arms. When couples take even a few minutes each day to spend some private time together, their entire mood will be elevated afterwards and they will likely feel the effects of the hormones throughout the rest of their day.
So what happens to the libido that the couples once had? Unfortunately time and stress take a significant toll on our bodies. Men often display the effects more noticeably than women as their erections can easily be interrupted by stress and worry. On top of that men are fighting a losing battle against the loss of their most important hormone: testosterone.
Testosterone is what supercharges men's libidos and helps them achieve a full erection that will please their partner. When testosterone production decreases, so does a man's libido even when he still sexually desires his partner.
Another key factor that decreases a man's libido is health problems. As men get older, circulatory problems become more prevalent and achieving an erection can be near impossible due to lack of blood. The medications used to treat many blood pressure issues and other health problems are also to blame for lack of libido.
So what can you do about this tragic loss of libido? Men often take their pride and sit in silence as their sex life becomes a distant memory. With health problems, lowered testosterone, and the lowered self-confidence due to the previous two issues, sexual encounters with their loved ones are often avoided at all costs. This can have severe effects on a marriage, including lack of intimacy and the partner's belief that a man's loss of libido is somehow due to them. Most men experiencing these problems often believe there is no help for them and they resign themselves to years of passionless marriage. Thankfully they are wrong!
If you are still attracted to your partner but lack the libido to passionately make love to her like you did when you were younger, then you simply need to restore the hormones and blood flow that's preventing you from achieving your full erection size. First, testosterone can be increased with the same herbal supplements that increase blood flow to the penis during an erection. These supplements are safe to take and can allow any man, no matter what his age, to finally regain the passion and desire that he experienced when he was in his twenties.
These natural effects of age affect millions of men and can be easily treated with a proven male enhancement supplement. Herbal male enhancement supplements can safely allow a man to start achieving full and impressive erections within just two days of taking it. Additionally male enhancement supplements treat the two main causes of libido loss and inability to obtain an erection: low testosterone and other health/medications issues, safely and naturally.
If you want to regain the passion that's been missing in your marriage, develop a deeper bond with your partner, and take control of your sex life again, then try a male enhancement supplement.

Reasons Why You Should Steer Clear of Cheap Essential Oils

Due to the rising costs of products and services, people are more cost conscious than ever. This consciousness usually drives them in the direction of products with a cheap price tag. This cheap factor may be all right with some things, but you do get what you pay for. When considering cheap essential oils, you will not get the quality, potency, or positive effects you're looking for, so take the following points into account when searching for oils.
So many people fall head over heels for discounted products. They search circulars and end caps ruthlessly to find things that are cheap. The real story behind "cheap" is not good news, though. If you are in the market for cheap essential oils, prepare to receive an imposter in a bottle. Oils with a super cheap price tag probably have been overly processed and stripped of all the good things that draw us to them in the first place. Don't fall for cheap imitations that fool your nose, dig deeper.
First Thing: Find a Good Source
Finding a good oil producer is not a difficult task. Just search for a company that has their hands in all aspects of the essential oils process; from seed to bottle. This basic fact will ensure you have oil that is made from the beginning to deliver the true benefits the plant is supposed to impart through its oils. Good oils are like good wine, they need an artistic and scientific eye to produce a good end product.
Talk to a lot of people when searching for essential oils. A lot of the better companies have representatives that live locally and can provide you with samples, explanations of the different oils benefits, and oils that are inexpensive. Also talk to some of your friends that have experience with alternative health therapies who might supply you with some brands they have had success with.
An equally essential way to gather information about worthwhile products, is to read as much as you can. You can usually scent out fakes by reading promo information, by reading a lot of reviews, and by researching on people who have used oils for a long period of time and can spell out the differences between quality and cheap essential oils.
A more productive way to look at the issue of cheap essential oils is to consider less expensive oils from solid and reputable companies. No matter what company you look at rose oil is expensive because of the amount of rose petals and effort it takes to make the oil. However, there are some varieties of oils, like cedarwood, lemon, orange, and pine that tend to be less expensive because these crops are in less demand, so they are more reasonably priced - the good news, it doesn't mean they have less therapeutic value. Not only that, but companies always run price reductions on oils that may not have been selling as great for some reason. The positive news about these types of specials is that you did your research on the company, so it's not a quality issue, simply quantity.
"You get what you pay for" is definitely something to keep in mind when searching for cheap essential oils. Instead of shopping for cheap, search for the best producers and scour their products for ones that satisfy your needs at a reasonable rate that fits within your budget.

Age Gracefully With Non-Surgical Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Looking great is an important part of feeling great. And aging gracefully has never been easier thanks to modern medicine. Most people are aware of botox treatments but there are other treatments that can be used to get rid of wrinkles as well. Restylane treatments Juvederm lip injections are dermal fillers available on the market. Restylane is the trade name for a range of injectable fillers with a specific formulation of non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid. Restylane was the first stabilized hyaluronic acid filler on the market and reportedly has been used in over 11 million treatments worldwide. In the United States, Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid filler to be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for cosmetic injection into sub dermal facial tissues.
Restylane is most commonly used for lip enhancement and it is also used to get rid of facial wrinkles and aging lines. Restylane can also be used to revitalize the skin by increasing skin elasticity structure, without adding volume in the face, hands and décolletage. The duration of this treatment depends on factors like the individual's skin type, lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment. Most treatments have a recovery time of 2 to 3 days. Generally, there is little to no downtime after using the Restylane family of products. Patients may incur some swelling or tenderness after treatment, but these tend to be mild. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.
Juvederm is another widely available anti-aging treatment. Juvederm is part of a family of dermal fillers used by cosmetic, dermatological and plastic surgeons to soften deep folds and reduce wrinkles in the faces of patients. It was approved in June 2006 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Juvederm's prime use is for removing nasolabial folds, or "smile lines," creases of skin which run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It is also used as a lip augmentation agent and to fill in hollow places and scars on the face. Much of the hyaluronic acid facial filler is eventually absorbed by the body, usually within six to nine months, causing the patient to undergo repeat injections to maintain the younger look. Juvederm is also used by physicians to plump lips, which also lose fat and internal shape with normal aging. Juvederm XC is manufactured using Hylacross technology, which means it is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment.
Juvederm works well for cosmetic and plastic surgery applications because hyaluronic acid can absorb up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, thereby adding new volume under the surface of sagging skin. When choosing a practitioner for your desire for dermal fillers Bucks County, it is important you go with a practice that has had proven success with Restylane and or Juvederm treatments and can share testimonials with you. Those with older faces can expect to take on more youthful aspects and maybe even help you get rid of wrinkles in Newtown within a few treatments.
Dr. Jon Fishers Aesthetic specialize in the use of dermal fillers in Bucks County patients. The Philadelphia skin care team also provides Juvederm lip injections at his Feasterville office as well as Restylane treatments for Bucks County patients.

Are There Codes of Practice for Brain Injury Case Management?

Brain injury can cause major physical, emotional and cognitive changes. It is the job of case managers to help clients with brain injuries to achieve the highest levels of independent living.
Brain injury case mangers come from different professional backgrounds such as occupational therapy and clinical psychology. They will be regulated by their professional bodies. Many also follow the BABICM Code of Ethics.
BABICM was formed in 1996 and it is a professional association that promotes the development of case management in the field of acquired brain injury and other complex conditions. It stands for British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers.
The association represents the professional interests of their members and aims to develop a professional and ethical structure to encourage high standards. It also promotes networking and communication between its members.
BABICM set up a code of practice in 2008 in conjunction with CMSUK (Case Management Society UK) to help members with their work. They can face many challenges and dilemmas because of the nature of their work and the Code of Ethics helps them address some of their main areas of concern.
The code has 10 points which cover duty to clients, ethics and law, respect for the autonomy of the client, best interests of the client, prevention of harm, non-discrimination, telling the truth, fidelity, nature of employment (working to ability and making sure client understands what the job entails) and professional integrity (keeping up with relevant training and qualifications).
There is no legal requirement for case managers in the UK to be professionally qualified, registered or clinically experienced in working with brain injured patients.
People can find reliable professionals through BABICM. Those registered with the association have a clinical qualification and professional registration. Advanced members have proven experience working for brain injured clients.
